ALKO DISTRIBUTORS FREIGHT ROUTING INSTRUCTIONS (U pda ted 5/17 /2024 ) We ask your cooperation and compliance with the following routing instructions. Our traffic management p rogram is designed to provide Alko with the best overall rates and service. Non - compliance with these instructions or unauthorized use of non - listed carriers will result in a chargeback for any additional costs charged to Alko Distributors. Instructions: Clearly mark each carton with shipper and consignee name, address, and the Al ko Distributors purchase order number(s). Indicate the total number of cartons, number of pallets, weight, freight description, freight class, and Alko ’s purchase order number on our carrier's bill of lading. Palletize and stretc h wrap all cartons when ship ping by XPO Logistics . Combine multiple orders on one bill of lading when shipping to the same address. Alko bases their landed cost calculations on you r product description and information. Failure to observe the proper carrier, weight, description, pallet, cube criteria or any other of the instructions will result in a chargeback. Shippers must consolidate shipments into as few pallets as possible. You must reach a pallet height of 84 - 90 inches before starting an additional pallet. If more pallets than necessary are used, this will result in a freight chargeback. For UCL shipments, do not declare a value for the shipment. There is a declared value charge that is added if there is a declared value listed on the bill of lading. Declared value char ges will result in a chargeback. All FedEx shipments must be shipped freight collect. Cartons shipped by FedEx must not exceed 50 pounds. There will be a freight chargeback of $25 per carton for every package that exceeds 50 pounds. Please check your purchase order or contac t us at 410 - 391 - 4270 for our FedEx account number if you do not already have it. Freight collect address: 8801 Kelso Drive, Baltimore, MD 21221.
